Hi, I have a constant noise, it sounds like something is ticking away, all the time from behind the centre console/behind the dials. It doesn't matter if the key is in the ignition.

Does anyone know what it is?

Cheers

There is a little fan in the HEVAC unit....this draws cabin air into the unit where there is a temperature probe to monitor cabin air temp.

Sometimes if it has drawn fluff in, it can make odd noises!

Interesting that you should mention that as I have a quiet humming from the same area. Ive seen previous threads regarding noise from this area and it has led to all manor of hypothosis including a mention of the "final heater resistor" which would seem a popular one as they seem to sell quite a few on flea bay.

Q for Saint V8 How would you suggest removing said fluff? Is a blast from a air line/gun down the vents sufficient to dislodge or is there some dismanteling to be done?

Airline might be excessive...try either a Photographers hand bellows (for blowing dust from lenses) or a tin of Air Cleaner (again used for cleaning keyboards, cameras et al)

Final Stage Resistor doesn't make any noise - it is just a resistor with cooling fins abound...surely!

Possibly clock, hadn't thought of that, but mine is silent and even when changing the time on the MFD no noises as the hands move to the new time either....

I have more of a whirring sound, assumed it was heating system mixing/shut off flaps returning to rest position.
