A friends 90 custom build is making a wierd noise but only when you turn left and not all the time.
The wheel can be put to full right hand lock and when turned back makes a noise at some points that is a slightly grinding duck quack? great description eh?
I greased the steering ujs on the column to no avail and they were quite free anyway.
If the front of the vehicle is raised there is no noise and full lock makes no difference you can just hear the pump straining.
Changed the fluid in the power steering and it has quietened down a little and makes the noise less when cold.
my guess is a problem developing within the steering box as i have seen a few wet ps pipes and his idea of checking fluids is having the vehicle serviced once a year.
Any other ideas welcomed

i would check swivels turn smooth when jacked up ,sector shaft brgs can come apart causing needles to wear shaft as you turn
