I have a wine when costing in gear as well as when clutch is down
I guess it needs fluid as it has had a recon box in in its life.

As I have done all but the gear box fluids
(the 32mm nut is tight and I have a 32mm socket, can not get the ratchet on and a fan spanner do not think it will be strong enough)
WIll get a 32mm ring spanner and give it a go.

Also The tranfer box I could only get 1.7 ltrs in should it take 2.3 ltrs

Thanks

James

I had a very similar situation with my 200tdi classic not too long back did the fluid change and the noise was still there in the end i got the g/box changed as it was getting worse over time.

You shouldn't mate, you'll get nicked for drinking and driving!

:D

Ah'll get me coat...

I have come to the conclusion it is the rear diff as I have drained and filled the g/box

If it is a noise when the clutch is disengaged then it can only be a diff
Very loud at 50 when slowing

Am I right?

I have a right night mare with this axle

It was the rear diff brearings gone
So got some one to fit a second hand one, Lasted for 5 mins, lost drive, so temporally drove it in diferent lock only for it to lock up
So took the prop off and half shafts out, so I could drive it till I could get another 1.
Then the hand brake drum came off:doh:
Will be getting a new diff fitted and drum soon

I hate the disco even more now:mad:
