What a nightmare I'm having with this thing at the moment! 2003td5.

Window wipers stopped halfway today then got them going then they stopped again about 20mins later now on the odd occasion if I flick them on they come up halfway then stop. Then nothing.

Nothing at all is working on the right hand stalk checked all the fuses and the relays (f19 incar and f6 underbonnet) I think were the ones I think that matter but checked all.

I've taken the plug off the back of the stalk and I have 12v at 3 of the pins .. tried to link the pins one at a time from the ones that have 12v to the ones that dont to try bring them on or at least something on but with no joy at all...

Now here is the **** bit!...I'm on holiday with my caravan and it's raining every day and have no wipers and it's still due to be raining when we leave in a few days! I have no tools either!! Just driven 15miles in the rain to screwfix to get a multimeter!

Any ideas???

Heading home today so will have a good look then, I've a stalk coming in the morning so will plug that in and check it before the bonnet comes off and scuttle to check the motor

It's not the stalk or motor. Where is the relay I've heard all sorts, from under the bonnet aux to bult in to the fuse board inside to in the stalk? I presume it's in the fuse board built in? I've had a faf arround with the fuse board and I've now got it working on intermittent and window washers but no constant or fast!

I'm thinking new fuse board?

The relay is soldered into the fusebox but it's involved only in the automatic actions, on fast the motor is directly linked to the stalk so the relay is not involved at all

I bought a second stalk and tired that.

So at the moment I only have intermittent but thats after pulling the fuse box out and having a mess about. I think there must be a loose connection on there.

Do you have any ideas?

Thanks

Will I have any issues if I disconnect the batt and remove the fuse box over night (strip and clean it)

Might be bad contact in connector C0588.... it's compulsory to disconnect the battery if you remove the fuxebox
