In the interets of science I've ordered one of the
BioTuning - Vegetable Oil Diesel Vehicle Conversions Parts, Kits and Information exchangers and a couple of their valves and will be putting something together over this weekend and will report my findings. I'd be interested to know how to came to the conclusion that your exchanger should be of that design, including it's dimensions based on thermal mass and heat gain/loss etc
As far as i can see no one sells what i think would be the ideal solution:
Feel free to add/edit this list of what i think is required.
1, Low thermal mass exchanger (your's looks quite chunky so bringing it to temp will be a lengthy process)
2, Auto switch over when temp is reached
3, Electrically assisted heating of exchanger when ambeint temp is lower than approx +2 (or whatever temp SVO starts going gloopy)
4, Interface between fuel switch over sensor and assisted heating function to enable starting using SVO when engine temp permits
5, Total bypass so that main tank can be filled with diesel without using heating system - this is in the event of SVO not being available
6, Sensible set of indicator/working signals/lights that dont resemble the space shuttles dash
7, Secondary tank system that allows external filling
