Hi all wondering if I can get some help here I replaced my dizzy on my 3 series with the acuspark dizzy it ran fine but died when I opened the bonnet I noticed the positive wire from the dizzy had come off so I reconnected it and nothing so I a guessed I blew something in the distributor . I bought another one put it in but still no spark ? It's baffling me as I have an old coil as well that I know was working ( thinking it might be that but no spark again ) Just wondering if I have blown something in between like an ignition relay or something I can say that there is 12v coming to the coil with ignition on either I have bought a dud dizzy or i am missing something all help much appreciated Nick

Thanks but if it blew the fuse I am presuming I wouldn't get a live from the ignition plus I have replaced the whole lot including the dizzy ? I don't know of anyone knows on here but if I was to spin the dizzy with a continuity test with one end of the lead in the center point of the dizzy cap and spin it around should the distribution make a closed circuit when it passes each 4 points to the outer hd leads if that makes sense

The rotor arm doesn't physically touch each of the 4 posts in the distributor cap so a continuity test won't read anything.
A ht spark jumps the gap when the rotor arm gets close enough

TRY
