Evening,

I've had my landy for around a month or so now and am loving it.

For the past few days, I've noticed two patches under the beast when coming back to it from it being parked.

They aren't puddles but patches on the tarmac.

One is oil and the other is a red/pink colour (coolant?).

The oil seems to be coming from the pipe connected to the oil filter. The man I bought the car off said he had serviced it recently, including filter and found it to leak so also changed the metal connector on the pipe (can't remember the name of it). It was dry for a good couple of weeks but the suckers now leaking. Can it be fixed?

The coolant is a little harder to find. I'm going to have another look in the morning but can't seem to find where it's coming from. The bottom of the sump is where a couple of dots of it are before it drops but I don't know if it's running onto the sump from somewhere or not.

The cambelt was done this year.

Any advice appriciated.

Thanks

Red/pink colour could be power steering fluid (ATF) or main gearbox fluid (ATF/MTF).
Best bet is to clean engine and gearbox and find where it's coming from.

As Gratch says , give it clean and see if you can trace the fluid .Also check around power steering unit including pipes to reservoir. Hope you suss the leaks out .:)

Aye, check the pipe joint under the power steering fluid bottle. That's a typical one for leaking.

As for the oil from the oil cooler pipes, he might of changed them but used the old seals again. If they haven't long been done then you should have no probs undoing them to change the seals. Just be prepared for mess :D
He may of just done the same thing I did yesterday and undone a rusty joint and split the pipe.

Where underneath the car is the pinky patch? ie.under engine, mid section of the truck or inbetween? would help with guesses on where the leaks are coming from.
