hi all this was posted a while ago and the op never followed it up but it covers my exact problems can anyone help
Hi All ,I have a 1999 p38 4.0 lpg range rover thats got no power, things that i have done to try and cure problem:
new plugs and leads, new filters, new exhaust, new air flow meter,
the engine feels like its running on 6 pots ,on idle the engine sounds fine
when you rev engine it sound fine, when you select drive and pull away slow it feels normal then if you try to put your foot down it just builds up very slowly, there is no kick down punch when you floor it, I cant overtake a milk foat, Whats wrong with this beast?

Engine is 4000 miles old from turners we with high lift cams and gas flowed heads waste of money from new as far as I can tell
Anyone got any sensible suggestions ? As exhaust plugs and leads are new ?

See above! Unless its been decatted?

From reading your original post, it appears you have copied and pasted someone elses problems which are similar to your own, is that the case?

Have you actually changed the MAF? Checked for air leaks? Checked its got the correct spark plugs (what year is yours?)

Will it idle properly? And rev cleanly with no load?

You can quite crudely when its running remove a plug lead at a time and see what if any effect it has on the idle speed/sound/note. If you unplug a lead and there is no change it means that that cylinder is not firing for whatever reason.

Right sorry to take so long. Getting. Back to you l have a nano-com which threw up P1592 = rough road signal nothin else will try a new set of plugs
I tried unplugging each lead individually and didn't really notice a difference. New maf fitted this week sort of better low down but now takes a few goes to start it and revs drop really low and occasionally stall

Where did you get the new MAF from. Anything other than genuine Bosch will probably be worse than the original it replaced.

Right changed the maf put on new coil packs ( that was fun ) still no power at all any ideas I do have a nanocom but don't really have much luck with it

if it was a manual i would say slipping clutch......have you check your sparks to each lead? Id start thinking about your drive train

Don't think drive train as it sounds rough too though I am getting the abs and traction lights on no brake light though

Check brake pedal switches for correct operation and adjustment.....
