Hello friends,

After just fixing my overheating woes, I've been gifted a new problem. I seem to have no power to my air con, head-unit or cigarette lighter. They have all worked flawlessly since I've owned the car.

I assume the overheating probably caused something here, the timing is very suspicious. There was a hole in the wiring loom that goes around the rad expansion tank, though shielding around each wire looked okay. I don't know if this hole existed prior to boiling coolant going everywhere.
I also had my battery negative lead disconnected for a couple of weeks+.

Things I have tried:
- Checked voltage coming from cig. lighter, got nadda.
- Checked each fuse for continuity, especially 1-8.
- Mindlessly pressed buttons hoping it would just work.

Could well be the fuse box as a result of the coolant getting in. Fuse box problems are not uncommon. Need to look at RAVE to see what those 3 items have in common.
 
HEVAC is fed from fuses F8, F17, F42 & RL7. Radio (Low, Mid & High Line) is F1, F8 & RL7.

Could also be dash ground connection which is same for HEVAC & Radio.

Well after changing absolutely nothing I have all my power back :rolleyes:

I suspect it was the battery. I got 12.4 volts on the battery when off, when I turn the key to 2nd position I was only getting 11.4 volts.
I drove the car for about 20 minutes yesterday, perhaps the alternator charged the battery just enough to behave.

The battery has gone completely dead twice over the last year or so, and brought back to life with my charger, so it is probably not in the best shape.
 
New battery needed if it gone flat twice and at 12.4v, look at putting in the biggest capacity one you can get we use an mf 31 it has 120ah 1000 cca
