One morning in the last cold spell, it was just about at freezing point here, going by my newly fitted gauge. It had been a dry night and there was no frost or ice on the screen, local roads were dry, so no ice. 10 miles on, coming into work, noticed guage was -2, and this road isnt gritted, so went carefully, there being a T at the end. Hmmm, a bit of a slip n slide, easily corrected, no real undie changing event, round the corner, up the hill 100 yards..... Then I heard the BANG as a work colleague didnt make the turn and went straight on through the fence. Guess my gauge saved me a few hundred notes there......It was nice and warm in the car, lol.
