Hi every one....
I brought a 1995 2.5dse and noticed there a few problems.......
The passagenr front door had no power, if you have this problem:
Check your fuses under driver seat 1st if there all ok then...
Remove the kick panel on passanger foot well and remove the door card, grab a multimeter and check the contanuity between the outstaion & wiring just behind kick panel, there's a bright green com's wire that was snapped in mine it wasn't visible on mine until I performed a beep test with the multimeter.
I had to cut & solder all the plugs in kick panel due to corrosion in the plug.
The heater control unit (hevac) was showing a test book symbol and no heating on driver side, repaired the blend motor - replaced motors and p (one of 3x) still no change, I opened up the hevac unit to have a look, there was a burnt out track - I repaired this with a bit of solder and now all working
Range Rover P38 Maintenance repair improvements and tips learned by experience by ownership.
My heated screen and seats were not working either, so traced loom back to the becm unit, removed the cover to find a bit of corrosion on the rear of plug/board so cleaned it up with contact cleaner and toothbrush and refitted and now seats and heated windows working
Next on my list is centrel locking on front - front doors don't lock off remote (rear doors & boot do) and if you lock by hand the other side don't lock.
Going to strip motors tomorrow
2.5 dse replacement injector pump - mine was leaking so replaced with a 2ed hand used injector pump, witch gave a nice injector light and no fuel to injectors, so replaced top half of pump with top half of my old pump, easy to do bang a 8mm socket over weird looking bolt, drain diesel out pump with tissue and make sure the nipple goes on the slider when you refit top half - simples!
Hope this helps
