hi first time ive posted on here so be kind i have a 95 4.6 hse p38 poor 1st time starter but will start 2nd time when cold will run ok for a few miles then starts to lose power and will not idle.I have cleaned the iac and maf and air filter must admit filter needs changing and plenon filter is non exsistant but has run like a dream for last six months any help would be appreciated

When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter?

never were is it not been able to locate it and many thanks for the reply

I drive a '93 LSE and it's on the frame inside the wheel arch on the left (as you face the car) rear wheel. I don't know if it's the same on a '95, but it's worth a peek.

cheers just tried to order all new parts just realised its bank holiday nowhere open have to wait till tomorrow

After replacing the filter, if you still have the same symptoms, you'll have to check for fuel flow to the injectors. If you are getting fuel that far, then you'll have to start looking at spark and air. If you find that you are getting no fuel to the cylinders, then it's most likely a bad fuel pump.

Also, try cracking the fuel cap to let in air and try running it. If that works, then your tank isn't venting properly.
