Spreading Joy & Harmony
Just driven my 90 the 40 miles home and theres definitely something not wrong with it.

Normally its really unreliable and i can hear a strange noise or it feels under-powered, today however it drove really well and even went over 80mph at one point. As you can imagine i'm baffled.

Why is it doing this? I've not checked the air filter so i'm hoping thats blocked. I've got an old split oil filter that i'm going to put on later to replace the good new one thats obviously not causing me any problems.

All the lights are working which i find startling. Its taxed, mot'd and insured, i'm sure this isn't normal.

I'm aware that most landy owners will not have a clue what its like to actually get from A to B problem free. But if theres anyone else out there thats not having problems i'd appreciate it if you'd keep it to yourself as i'm going to enjoy this one day.

we must have landies that where built on the same day and by the same staff, as mine is working just great and only requires fuel putting in it

Weirdly enough, Vagrent will back me up, the other night i thought some fooker had stuck nitro in mine or finally the turbo was actually working for once as it was so responsive and quick i nearly over shot the lights at the end of my road....

Needless to say it's back to it's old fart syndrome, but it was nice to feel it go so quick ;)

Had mine 18 months and not had any problems on the road with it, oh wait I've never driven it.
You could really feel the boost driving the disco the engine came out of, I hope it'll still pull like that.

That's outrageous behaviour ... Good tip though ... don't tell the Mrs cos' she'll have you doing shopping stuff this weekend with no Landy to work on! :)

Really sorry to hear that. I posted a fred about it a while ago which you need to heed.

Just for the record, it might be that your head h=gasket hasn't failed, or more likely that you don't need to replace the Uj's on the propshaft, but whatever it isn't, yo udefinitely don't need to replace all the wheel bearings. Oh and yer steering box probably hasn't got a leak anorl!

Oh jesus, is that the headlight fuse not gone again??? ffs!

Storm - happy to lend you my experience and give her a quick look over to check out why there's nothing wrong.

Let me reassure you that your pride and joy will be safe in my hands. Have more than adequately proved that I have no mechanical know how whatsoever, time and time again on my time on LZ and thats the type of person you need to look at a vehicle with nowt wrong with it .

Than you for the kind offer..I am relieved to inform you that today things returned to normal, it won't go over 60mph and changing to 5th gear results in an instant loss of speed so i am constantly shifting between 4th and 5th.

As you can imagine i'm very pleased at the return to normality.

Oh, and the offside sidelight has stopped working too. Deep joy.

well..... you missed out on the small window of opportunity where my lack of mechanical skills could have been useful-....... now you'll just have to fall back to using knowledge, experience & skill to sort out the problems you are experiencing ;)

indeed mines back to normal

wouldn't bloody start again this morning, i know it gets the hump if i dont take it out the garage, its like me dog, he gets miffed with me when i have to go somewhere without him...

I thought I was not having problems the other day then... Wheel wobble. Went off roading the same day and lost a prop shaft. Had to be towed all the way to the entrance because I couldn't drive it out with 2wd. My grandad drove it home with the output shaft on the front tied up to stop it hitting the bottom of the car.
We arrive home 2 hours later from a journey that should take half an hour. I go to reverse the up the drive into the garage and turn the wheel but rather than turn, the front wheels bank over to the right. I look underneath and realise than all of the mountings have sheared off my front axle and the only thing holding my front axle on over that 2 hour journey was my nearside spring and the weight of the vehicle... then I got that "oh dear I could have just had a massive accident but I didn't realise" feeling.
