hi I've got a 4.6P38, I ran out of fuel put a can in no joy since put two more in plenty spark but no petrol any ideas and help most gratefully received

is it gas converted?
as the pump runns constantly even on gas and most people run them with next to nothing in the pump just over heats as it need the fuel to lubricate and cool it! not an easy job tank out as it does not have a hole under the seat

That's what I did, but on a disco its a easy enough job. It took about 10 mins.

I wish ten minutes 4 out of five nuts undone one bitch to go then filler pipe then get the pump out, oh yes need a new exhaust now aswell any ideas for a good reasonably priced system guys

thanks

Steve

fixed the fuel pump easier to make an access panel cos if your fuel lines are anything like mine were it would be very very difficult to remove from pump while dangling the tank.
now to change the valve cover gaskets, is there a special tool cos i cant seem to find a socket to remove the retaining bolts

you need a torx socket to undo them properly/easily. i managed to undo mine with an 8mm multidrive socket and a bit of pressure to stop it slipping round, then replaced them with allen bolts.
