are they easy to fit/adjust I really dont have a clue with them?
But i do know they are cheaper which sounds good to me.

You'll have to replace the pickup with a set of points and a condensor, set the gap and then set the timing. A new rotor arm on the top of the cam and the existing cap should fit. Plenty of threads on here about setting timing.

Try setting it up with the sensor as close to the rotor as possible without contacting it.

The GAP needs to be quite small. It isn't a CRITICAL gap until it gets so big the sensor doesn't sense the rotor passing it = no spark.

If that doesn't fix it fling in a set of standard points meantime to make it go.

Well, It was the hall sensor after all. Shoved a brand new electonic ignition dizzy in and she fired up. Running lumpy as heck but at least shes alive.
Will do the timing and final tweeks this weekend.
