Now I know I'm going to get fit a "tdi" and all the other comments and I have searched but they are all old posts so here goes.

I have a Nissan FD35T engine fitted has anyone found out where to buy things like oil, oil filters, injectors etc from or even a manual would be even good. I would like to give it a service so oil? filter?

Has anyone else got one that can help?

Have you tried taking the old filters to an auto factor's who can match them up and will probably cheaper than going to the dealers aswell :)

Is there really need to cross post:

Especially when you were getting replies to your other thread too.

Sorry about cross posting but I know that these engines where fitted into Series Land Rovers also and there is so little information around I thought that any help would be useful as some people stick to one forum section and don't read the others, but again sorry if this is a problem

Update.....
Managed to get an oil filter, now just trying to workout what oil to put in. Any thoughts?
yep a diesel oil, 10w30 or 15w40, dont wanna go too thin as in lower then 30. i know some old detroit and cummins diesels would run say a sae 40 mono-grade oil and there be no probs, but i would probably go with a multi-grade if you have cold winters and warm summers.

Thanks, I went for 10W 40 as that seemed pretty common for old Nissan engines such a Patrols etc.
As you are in Australia and I know the engine is more common over there have you had any experience with or know of anyone using this engine?

Richard

well all i can say is that i rarely ever hear of problems with nissan engines as such, very good quality, a New Zealander is on here that has a sd33 and he says it goes real good, i have had a mechanic near me say that if my rover engine shiit itself i should use a nissan/datsun 4 cylinder petrol engine.

there are many landrovers world wide that use nissan engines and main gearboxes in landrovers.
