So I'll be picking up my 90 roof with Alpines later this week. The next major job is my doors. I have two options really. Get my current doors returned, they both need the bottom sections replacing and reskinning. Or buy new doors. The wind up window doors are damned expensive. Another option I was considering was Series 3/MOD style sliding windows. I like the idea of their simplicity. The only prolem I have with them is the rattley windows. From my Army years I know they can be very annoying. Is there some way of stopping the rattle?

Opinions?

Mine don’t rattle at all! In many ways I prefer them to wind up window doors. I love having the door tops off when it’s hot.
The ally door tops on 90’s / 110’s are much better than the series versions. Both front and back panes open individually and the frames are ally......
Bit pricey but worth it imo

The only problem I have found with my series is the lack of a handle. I tend therefore to out my fingertips in the sliding window track to close the door.
The tracks are aluminium covered in floss so once bent inwards leave the glass a little loose. Not an issue to push it back and even left bent, there isn’t a rattle as such.

Yes, replace the felt window channels to hold the glass snugly! I have done it a couple of times in mod door tops now. Takes about 10 min to do, does not need to be dismantled and the felt strip is only a couple £'s. I should point out I have had them fitted nearly 10 years, so would guess the life expectancy of the flet channel is about 3-4 years before it has compressed. Even when I replaced it last time it was only a slight rattle. When I first got them, there was very little of the felt left and the clattered about terribly.

Edit: I use this: link, from memory you need one two to do both sides and you have some left for rpairs in future.
