Hi to all LandyZone members, new to this format so be gentle with this gereatric Land Rover enthusiast.
I have a 1971 Series 111 2.25 Petrol SWB Hardtop in standard trim. I have owned her for 29 of her 36 years existance. Complete bare chassis restoration carried out in the late 1990`s by myself including stripping all major mechanical items renewing (almost) everything that was worn. She is used every day of the year and has been 100% reliable - considering the reputation of some Series LR`s. I will endeavour to post a pic. Looking forward to contributing and learning from the membership. Mike

No-body on here knows how to be gentle but its all done with tongue in cheek. You'll need a thick skin and a good sense of humour so welcome to the funny farm. I'm a geriatric too with a geriatric Landy - 1968 Ser 2A 109" Station Wagon. I've owned it for about a year now and am still working to get it ready for MOT.

Cabbie. Thanks for the welcome - anyone without a GSOH in this world misses out on life - so I look forward to getting my chain pulled occasionally!.
Good luck with the LWB work, got much to do ?

Tatooboo,
Tengo un lugar en España, sino un largo camino al sur de Girona - en las colinas de Andalucía 30K NW Malaga- (I have a place in Spain, but a long way south of Girona-in the hills of Andalusia 30K NW Malaga)great off road country,I have MotoX 2 wheels out there - go all day never see tarmac !
My Landy has been out there but I brought her back due to her age and her wish to retain her UK registration !

Not a lot to do now. Finish overhauling rear brakes, finish painting chassis, sort out a bit of wiring and then MOT time. Should go through ok. Just got insurance quote from Footman James -- 100.03 premium fully comp. Didn't think that was bad . Got the quote on-line and then they sent me a text to say if I rang them they could do even better so I'll be on the dog to them tomorrow.
