Hi just joined and I am after some advice ??? I am looking for a landrover for messing about on Salisbury plain, plus some towing work which means motorway driving I am looking to spend up to £8K. I drive a Discovery but the wife does not appreciate me bringing it home covered in mud, plus I fancy a defender short wheelbase diesel, just dont know which model...or which to avoid. So any advice appreciated:confused:

Had the wife 30 years and she is just run in now so not looking to change...been using the plain for 20 years just got to stay on the tracks......and be a boring bastard !!

This is true.
It stays on your record for 2 years
They do recover your vehicle but only to cause you inconvience.
To get it back you need correct papers and cash (recovery costs)

So if you have cash to burn its not too bad
