OK so the Merc into the disco is a no go im not experienced enough:(
SO NOW , back down to earth , when i pull away i get a kinda take-up clonk noise, much more apparent when going to reverse. so my question is to all you experienced disco owners
IS IT DIFF:confused:
IS IT GEARBOX:confused:
IS IT TRANSFER BOX:confused:
im running a 2.5tdi and i do have a complete 3.9 v8 for spares
any help will be gratefully accepted

yes
it could be any of those

It could also be gearbox/Tbox intermediate gear
