Finally giving in to the urge to buy a Defender.
Is 8k about right for this one, please?
Defender 90 TD5 County Station Wagon on eBay (end time 13-Jun-10 20:00:20 BST)

No aircon, no "sun" (ha ha ha) roof.....

But otherwise OK? Anything in particular I need to look out for?

I'd say £5k to £6k is nearer the mark for an early TD5 with 93k on the clock.

I'd like to pay 5-6k for it Trewy but the market has gone a bit bonkers for defenders...it looks a cracking buy tbh, even at 8k....a lot of extras and well looked after. If you want peace of mind and dont mind paying a bit over the odds i'd go for it...

He says it has full leather land rover seats. the front two seats look like they have ill-fitting leather seat covers, the centre seat is normal techno cloth. the back four seats look like bog standard seats too, possibly with nylon covers on...

I'm not sure its a 2003 model. Looks like there is a rear bulkhead, my 2003 has not got one (I am sure someone on here can confirm, but I think they stopped around 2000?).

Would not buy from the pics - too low quality to assess condition.

The steering wheel is from an older model - 2003 models have an air bag (why would they do that?).

no defender has ever had an air bag.

OK, a bit of padding in the centre of the wheel to soften the blow. But deffo not a standard wheel for a 2003.

i think the price sounds good mate id go for it,my mate just sold his 2002 td5 for 8k with 70000 on the clock and hes had loads of phonecalls asking to veiw it but slod it to the first veiwer
