Chaps,
'56 plate, low miles, black TD5 90 soft-top - maybe not for the purists - seen it in the flesh and on eBane for the thick end of 15k.
Any (positive and polite!) thoughts, please? Whaddya think of the conversion - anything I particularly need to look out for / be aware of (wary of??)
Any and all constructive thoughts highly appreciated! If it's still there on Monday I intend to inspect again early next week.:croc:

not really low miles slightly higher than average. 46000 in 4 years, and they seem a bit on the expensive side 4250 for a 97 disco

I wouldn't say it's particularly low either. My 52 plate has 50k on it, and I wouldn't consider it to be that low either.

It's still a defender so watch out for usual stuff.

Although it's only 4 years old, check chassis rust, and all other usual stuff. Also check chassis/engine numbers to make sure it hasn't had a previous life, which has led to the conversion. Search the forum for usual defender problems/buying guide.

If you want a soft top, you could buy a hard top and convert it. People like nene overland do them, or you could do it yourself. That's what I would probably do as then you can get it exactly how you want it, and you won't be paying a premium in the first place.

I haven't been able to look at the add you listed as I'm using my mobile, so may have written something that has been explained in the ad!

Good luck

That's great - thank you very much.
