Hey guys and gals , rich here from south Africa , 99 model l series diesel owner , love her to bits but currently driving me dilly , I am a motor mechanic by trade and am 25 years in the game , have had the Freelander for 6 years now and until 18 months ago she was pretty good , started eating turbo chargers so decided it is time for an engine rebuild , rebuild from hell it turned out to be , new everything including oil pump , 3 oil pumps later and around 4 months time elapsed and I had her running , total time since rebuild was now 8 months , then injector pump decides to spring a leak , pump off and repaired , only to have the landy breakdown 2 weeks later , pump on and off 8 times later and we eventually discover that the vp37 pump has suffered a timing solenoid failure , borrowed one from another pump shop and presto , all good , check country stocks for solenoid and nothing , hence my joining you guys
