Hello community!
Have held burning desire to own a Landrover for a number of years now and have finally committed to finding "the one" upon my impending arrival back in gud ole blighty at the end of this month (work abroad) Geographic location is Thringston in Leicestershire.

I am looking to part with roughly 2.5G for the right one. Have my eye on this one in particular; http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...us=60&postcode=le678lj&price-from=1500&page=1

Any advice is welcome chaps!
Cheers,
Mike

+1 on the chassis. I bloke I work with his mate has just bought a td5 for 1500 quid, took it for its mot and spent another 1100 quid having it welded :p

Thanks for the prompt replies fellas!
In relation to the point on checking the rear 1/3 for rust/rot. What would be considered to much rust ie, and overall rusting or in specific locations such as welds ect?
Going to take a 8" driver with me to poke around with for rot but, from what ive seen, most landies tend to have a healthy amount of oxidization on them in general ;)

The above link is a perfect example of what to look for, if not a little scary, don't think they will let me take a needle gun to it though o_O

No they probably wouldn't buy small hammer or screwdriver should suffice. I've just sold my defender and the lad who bought it turned up with a hammer and a torch. If I had something to hide I wouldn't allowed him to poke around and that's how you should be thinking as a buyer.

Cheers guys, lots of information to take in but, much better to have general understanding of what to look for :D
