Getting excited now - only 2 sleeps until the trip! :p

Fingers crossed my Disco is up for it too! If she does break, would someone mind awfully helping me to recover to the nearest reasonable road so that a very nice man with a yellow lorry will take us home?

Diff.

I'll help if needed as I'm sure everyone will....

is it likely to break?

Precisely - I shouldn't worry, she is a Land Rover, it's just nerves about going on a bit of a laning trip. :D Anyhow let's see what a Disco2 with TC can do with advice on hand... "ooh you didn't want to go down there in 5th did ya?!!" "told you!" :D

Any tips regarding negotiating the lanes will be gratefully received

A D2 with TC, especially if it also has cdl, is a very, very good bit of kit .. Unlikely you'll get stuck!

If you break something we're like the forces, we don't leave people behind ... We might burn them but we don't leave them!

Hopefully you'll enjoy it enough to want to go laning again .. and we will help wherever you need it. Mind, I'm a bit thick so you might have to ask .. ;)

Which it doesn't...yet. The transfer box has the spigot as it's a 2001 but I don't have the kit to engage it.

I have read of people crawling underneath and manually engaging it with a spanner, but I'm not sure I want to do that on Saturday! Incidentally, I don't know if the light on the dash works. Mind you I believe it's pretty obvious if you've left the CDL engaged.

...unless your satnav doesn't do postcodes :( ;) I'm thinking I'll just be meeting you guys in the car park opposite the Royalty. I may swing by a Maccy Ds on the way past Skipton. It does do special interest: restaurants, airports, hotels etc.

The VDO Dayton unit does addresses (roads/junctions). It'll display position info in Lat Long. but won't accept input via those either. You can store current position though.
What the heck - it ain't broke, it has a navteq 2013 update CD so it does the job.

Put the address in for McDonalds instead

West Side Retail Park, Leeds Rd, Guiseley Leeds LS20 9NE

:D:D

Its not really out of your way coming from Skipton, just a different route at the end of the Bypass at Burley in Wharfedale.
