Hi all,

Got hold of a project discovery 2 last week and it's already got me in knots, and I'm only trying to get the front hub carriers off so I can get at the ball joints! Lower one on the passenger side is taking a real beating, I'm impressed and frustrated in equal amounts.

Previously owned an L322 and loved it.

Also absolutely chuffed this username wasn't taken haha

Good name at least you have not chosen Evoque Lover :mad:o_O

Hi welcome,
I remember doing that job on mine, broke my ball joint splitter in the process. Heat and big hammer worked for me

Managed to get them all out today - heat and a big hammer as you say. Managed to warp one of the new lower ball joints trying to get it in .

The Amazon press I bought is trash (go figure), none of the rings fit particularly well, and knuckle on the top is an awkward shape. Do you know which press you used? Might be worth buying another one.

Made my own at work, theres a picture of it on my build thread. Freezed the ball joint for a couple of days and heated up the knuckle just before fitting.
Will take a look at your build thread

Freezing is a good idea, hit it with some heat but it wasn't enough. Cheers dude
