Hello folks

I'm very new to this Land Rover world and thought I'd drop by and introduce myself.

Last year I picked up a lovely Disco 300tdi, with the intention of using it for a spot of green laning and for off road centres.

So far I have fitted just some diff guards, now I want to change the tyres. Currently she has 235 section A/T BF Goodrich's, and they look a bit skinny. I've done a bit of research and it looks like I could fit a 245/85 16 and it would give me a bit more diff clearance. Would this work?

Cheers
Vince

Welcome

Yes, you'd increase the clearance by about the same as you've reduced it by putting the guards on.

Kinda expensive way to gain a few mm

You would get a minimal increase, assuming your existing tyres are 85 profile. Barely a gnats!

Why are those too skinny? I have 7.50 16, thats about 190mm in your money. I find them pretty able.

Bleeve an SAS landy has 9.00 16, a tadge under 230mm, if its good enough for the SAS, would have thought enough for you! :)

Thanks for all the advice people. I guess I would prefer more of a wider / aggressive looking / performing tyre

So what would be the best mod to do next?

Thanks for the link @blue beasty. I've already been reading that recently.
