Hi people hope your well after last post I managed to do brakes , I noticed cv boots had split inner and outer ordered drive shaft came today was a nightmare removing old one everything was seized in place cursed just a little no a lot actually I’m having just as much trouble getting new one to line up and re seat I watched video just about the c clip needs to have gap at 12 o’clock position is there another clip inside which needs to be positioned and how to get it to click in without damaging anything first drive shaft ever done probably last too :) any tips for tomorrow’s re try would be much appreciated too old for riding bicycle the shop mrs says 😂 thanks guys gals
 
I know it's easier said than done!
It should be the reverse of what you have done to remove the old one!

Bit a fresh pair of eyes in the morning should help! After a cup of Tea or Coffee.

I don't think there is a specific way to get it in!! I think it just may be the collar?

Insert driveshaft, rotated until it starts to going and the splines align.

Small block.of wood on the joint and sharp smack with hammer and click !!

Sounds easy. It is a confidence thing.

If it doesn't go in the splines are not aligned.
 
As above, it won't just push in. Needs a sharp knock to spring it in. Like when it came out, all of a sudden with a sharp pull.
