Hi Guys,

My Name is Richard. Just joined up.
I have a 2003 Discovery 2, which I am planning to upgrade so I can play in some deep mud. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Cheers

Lol now that is the big question... as far as I know all discos had cdl, but they didn't all have the gear linkage. What I am wondering is if they changed the diff when they face lifted the disco 2 in 2003. If it is the same as the older discos I think I can fit an after market ashcroft shift to enable the cdl... not sure so I'm going to ask on the disco sub forum

Hi Rich,

Unfortunately not all transfer boxes had the CDL fitted. Mine only has the sticker showing difflock in the cabin, LOL.

You might find the answer with a search. As this has been discussed before. The box actually has a serial number that should identify if one is fitted.

However , going and posting on the Disco forum is also a good plan.

Cheers

Hi Neill,
That's for letting me know. I have seen some videos that show discos without cdl... but the diff has the ability to be locked/unlocked but as the option was not included at purchase they put in a shifter without the linkage. You can see what I mean if you look on YouTube lucky8 ashcroft cdl installation.

Oh,

I must be mistaken and my Transfer box must have diff lock inside it then.

Cheers

Well it could give you a big boost in your off road abilities... which is why I am trying to find out if it will work on a 2003 face lifted D2
