new wing skin after 30 years of filler looks a lot better than before thats the point

I really appreciate those pics. I'm just about to do the tub. Looks to me as if you did those panels in steel without removing the tub?

Situation i'm in is that my 88 has had wide doors put on the rear, nearside has a long ding in it, and the load area was cut out and replaced with a plain sheet. I've obtained a 2nd hand tub but that'll require some work too.
 
yes just cut the rot out and put the new panals over the top there made from ally sheet any sheet metal workshop with a roller can make these the guy who made mine did them in his dinner hour just makes job a lot better and no filler

double skin basically - i didn't think of that. There is someone on ebay who does defender ones but i don't know that they'd fit on a Series.
