I don't know if it's of relevance but at the bottom of the listing in tiny writing are the words.
"Manufacturers part numbers used for reference purposes only"
Maybe the parts aren't OE?

I used them a few times some years ago when I replaced the engine in my P38. The engine was made by Coscast and was of superb quality. The other engine rebuild parts (Rockers, shafts etc.) were Bearmach and Allmakes.
I was very pleased with the engine and it gave me 20000 trouble free miles before I sold the car, which is still going strong !!
At the price, I would imagine it's a GKN, but a quick mail/phone call would confirm ??

Ask them if it's real new vcu made by gkn and stamped gkn, via ebay message system. Also ask if they accept returns if not used/damaged etc. This will help you return it after delivery if your not happy with what you receive.

Some on ere will talk on about distance selling regs but having the above confirmed by the seller is well worth it when returning something knowing it would help with a formal return via paypal dispute if the return conditions were confirmed at the time of asking if it's real.

Looking in their sellers shop they also list the same VCU but with OE GKN bearings, the price for this one is £435 so presumably the one listed above has non OE bearings.

+1
Yes they often do that.

I have had stuff from them in Kellogs boxes !!!:confused:

when i worked at kelloggs, one old lady bought her cereal as usual from the shops, when she got home and opened the box, some dirty git had **** in the box and put it back into the system.true story.:eek:

I got mine from Bell and although they were busy, the turned one around in a few working days. If you e-mail them they are really friendly.

With regard to new or recon - as I understand it, the main part that is reaplaced is the viscous fluid and seals, so in theory a recon one could be as good as a new one? Bell also give you a 12 month warranty and will supply them pre-fitted with new bearings and delivered at reasonable charge.
