Evening all ,
Picked up my discovery 5 days ago now and I'm mostly enjoying it, I thought it would be slower than my Volvo 850 t5 but I find it's almost painful and it's got a ridiculous creak/rattle coming from the NS dash the drives me crazy :D
It needs every service item dealing with and the exhaust manifold is warped but luckily I'm more than capable of wielding the spanners and am a God with a welder (if I do say so myself) so hopefully after some attention it'll look after me as well as my Volvo has for the past 9 years....
So yeah, how do :cool:

Always liked the P80 chassis, the 850 being a rare breed now especially the R! ;)

The D2 TD5 isn't that bad once you get used to it, mine is a TD5 Auto! so the slowest! ;)
 
Well to be honest mine is an SE which right now is way rarer than an R
Mine too is an auto which I highly doubt has had the filter changed in his life

Trying to compare a D2 Td5 and a Volvo t5, whichever model, is always going to end in pain. The T5 was jumped on by police as a traffic car for a reason ;)
You'll get used to the difference, just don't forget which one you are in when overtaking :D

The HP22 can take some abuse, however a fluid change would be first on my list, a good idea to peel the old tranny filter apart to see what debris lies inside, it'll give a good indication of the condition of the trans! ;)
