Just ordered some Avon ZV5 (4 off) for my 3 door. Have always had Avon tyres on my bikes, and on the 5 different BMW saloons I have had, ran Toyo Proxies on the MGF I sold to buy the Land Rover. Because the size is 225x55x17 it seems find in a good all terrain tyre (70-30) is very difficult. This is the first set of tyres I am putting on this vehicle since I bought it last year. Will let you know how the feel in a week or two.

Sorry 255 was a typo and should have read 225. So far they seem good, certainly better than the rubbish that was on there before. Smooth and quiet ride, will comment on the little bit of off road I do, when I get round to doing some, notserious off road though, would need to put 15" or 16" wheels to accommodate off road tyres.

Hi, I had those tyres on a Focus, fairly quiet and good grip, not sure if they'd be suitable for the Freelander though, If I was you I'd check the load rating on them before fitting

Mmm - very interesting!

Why do you say the size is 255/55 17?
Is that the size of tyre on the vehicle just now?
Do you think 255 will fit without spacers?
