Just doing some of my mot failures and noticed the track rod ends I fitted a month ago are turning orange already... is this normal? The thread is fine, just the area surrounding the grease nipple.

it is normal if you dont paint them

Well yea. I just wasn't sure if they come with some kind of lacquer on them as the picture of them fitted was as is. Never mind, every day is a school day I'll rub it off and paint em tomorrow. Wouldn't you think they'd paint em before sale?

Just give then a splash of waxoyle which may last six months or so of normal road use just like any paint job would, they are positioned in a "hostile" area of the vehicle are they not.
