Hey guys im law im 21 year old mechanic just bought a 1989 defenser rolling project so far swapped out seats rebuilt head new centre cubby fitted rear seats and half way through chassis spraying. nice to meet you all any input on where to start

hi looks like the two of us have old defender projects on the go i have ALOT of work to do on mine hoping to get it on the road by the end of the year its an ex mod and im keeping everything original have you done alot of work on landys before?

Not really i work alot as a tvr specialist so v8s im excellent and alot of the electrics are borrowed from landys but mine is a diesel hahaha yer hoping to get mine sorted in under 12 months money permitted get it into an offroad beast.
hows yours coming on

im sourcing parts at the mo same as yourself aim is to do it as cheap as i can without skimping on the finnished article the chassais is well knackered loor is awol lay shaft bearing is humped l exaust is knackered whole brake system needs replaced and radiator is in need of replacement and the windscreen is cracked im deciding whether to build a new chassais or just get one second hand i was originally mulling the idea of a galvanised chassais over but the extensive work that needs done has made me stick to cheaper options im planning to remove the body and start from the ground up i have a list of different places i can get parts or get someone to source them im just waiting on a few of my sources getting back to me i hope your project goes well and cant wait to see pics :)
