I have a 1999 td5 d2.
Ive just recently bought for some light offroading and for the farm.

Is there such thing as heavy duty rear shocks for towing?

And what is everyones method for abit more power with the td5? Lol

There are HD shocks like Terrafirma etc. Genuine LR ones are probably strongest/will last longest but will cost silly money. Discos tow no problem.
