Well hello to all.......... new to this site and have just purchased my first Freelander Mk1 1800 2001 51 plate 4 door in green for a very reasonable price knowing the old girl has some issues. She has been looked after well for most of her life with lots of bills. This is my new toy so to speak after many years with Frontera's thought it was time to try another British vehicle and this seems a good idea as I work with loads of people from the old Rover / Land Rover company from years ago.
Got several issues it would appear, just dried the rear out!!! and yes been through the threads, seems no clear answer on that one so leak hunting I will go, also have a vibration seems to come in at about 50mph in the middle of the car and stays the same above that speed, so suspect damper or shaft bearings!!!
Was told car had been looked at and its the damper, spoke to another specialised yesterday who says as I will not driver her much no point in fixing. That's not me so will have to be fixed.
Also pondering if there is any point on saving some pennies and changing her to 2WD, but suppose that defeats why I bought her....
Well just wanted to say HI
