hi
owned a few defenders over the years but just bought my first swb series 11A. Ebay bargain of the century:D 1967 swb for sixteen whole english pounds, yes thats right one six pounds :D :D :D :D :D

No Tax, Test or very much in the way of working landy but its here, sat on the drive with the rest of the collection

But what to do with it

The petrol engine works, well sort of, seems strange putting petrol in a vehicle but hey ho takes all sorts

Got a mate coming round on Thursday night to weld the broken gearstick back together but playing tonight and noticed the clutch pedal sticking down  , lots of fluid, we'll give it a knock about thursday when we can actually select which way to go

if anyones got any advice, ideas, or owt else drop me a line, also if i do keep the old girl i'd like to change to a soft top, appreciate anyone letting me know what i need n where the bargains are to be had

thanks
dave

If its got a chassi number or number plate you could apply to the dvla for a replacement log book. Just a thought...

Still have seen a lot worse looking landies, even on the road. Worth a lot more than 16 squid as parts, but personally I'd try to put her back on the road, parts are easy enough to come by , try paddocks, and exmoor trim. The softop option will work out most money unless you can find a second hand tilt and rods!!

11th june and my old/new best mate turned up with his welder
actually goes into gear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now if anyones got any ideas about freeing the clutch up then we can take the old girl for a run

12th june
happy birthday to me
40 today used to look at all the old farts n think "that'll never be me"
what do you know, here i am a fully paid up member of the land rover perverts society

Leave the engine running with something holding the clutch pedal down. Walk away, have a cup of tea and hopefully when you get back in half an hour, the clutch would have freed itself.... hopefully! :)

Start her up put her in gear and drive it then stamp on the brakes a few times usually does it.
