Hi alI, have had my RR just a month a few issues, it drives well passenger door not locking or opening from dash or key fob took door card off 12 v going to big black connector when you open P. door interior light wont come on, puddle light does. Cant get a proper oil reading from dip stick its always reads over full. It smokes from start up black smelly when ticking over, changed air and pcv filter, after a run it clears up and is very slight also checked vacumme and turbo hoses. rear camera not working black screen and on self test I get a code B101025 no video input any advice cant afford iid tool yet cheers.
 
First off, welcome. Now on to the rest. I'm not one of the gurus here but I might be able to sign post.
Try searching for each of your issues individually, I get the feeling they have all been asked and resolved previously. If you can't find an answer, then ask someone like @Saint.V8 , @holidaychicken and others.
Black smoke can be a few things. Have you checked all hoses? I believe the right hand side hoses can sometimes have loose clips.
Perhaps your dipstick is giving a correct reading and someone has overfilled the oil?

Please note, none f the guesses by myself, are anything but guesses. However, the answer is either already out there or one of the gurus will have a better idea,

I can't comment on the other issues, but if the dip stick reads over full, it almost certainly is overfull which can cause damage, it may also account for the smoke.
If it were me, I would do an oil and filter change and ensure it is refilled to the correct level.

Thanks was thinking that some times it reads ok maybe 2 out of 10 times, going to change oil in the morning and see how much it drains and clean egr will let you know .
 
I love the fact one of them just cannot understand that the engine can't be switched off.
Seeing that I realise how lucky I was the day of my little adventure. Maybe the Golden Girl just dislikes me taking her to Englandshire but doesnt actually hate me ? Maybe ...........
 
It's basically how the nitro engine runs without a spark plug and only a glow plug to get it going.
i don't think that engine is going to be much use after that.
Even the freelander doesn't like being a freelander and has taken his own life in the only way he knows how :mad:

Well I changed the oil was over filled 10ltr came out ,when I was under there I had a good look at the intercooler hoses the bottom drivers side was a bit wobbley at the I/cooler could not get the clip off so I tightened it up. Cleaned EGR started no smoke will keep my eye on it thanks all
 
That looks promising then, that's a lot to overfill by, there can also be another problem i think where by the fuel finds it's way into the engine oil, although there is a chance i dreamt that up

I will keep a eye on it , is it a common problem . I will bring it for a run to see if its still smoking it did smell like diesel but mostly at start up a lot and after 10 min it was clear up I was thinking injectors but to day looked good so far cheers.
 
See how it goes, the old engine oil would have had a lot of diesel in it if you had 10 litres in total so would have been really thin, don't worry too much, just keep an eye on it as i may be talking total ar$e :)

How much is the sump supposed to hold? For example, the P38 diesel holds 9.5 litres from dry, 8.7 litres for a refill.
 
It is the same for the TD6, 8.75 with filter change so if it was Diesel in the oil I’m guessing 1.25 litres would make a noticeable difference to viscosity, more likely somebody just over filled it.
