Hi all - I'm a newbie, and what's even worse, a wannabe Land Rover owner. I've just convinced my wife that we should replace her car with a Land Rover though, so hopefully thro this site I can make my dream come true!!! I'm planning on getting a SWB diesel 90 station wagon, budget around the £3k-£5k mark (the lower the better) but I will need to use it most days to get to work as well as having fun in it!

Hope I don't ask too many stupid questions and I can't wait to update my details to say I have one!!

With a mad plan like that you should fit in well round these parts. Did you have to drug your wife for her to agree with that idea

get a 1k car fer driving around during the week then spend the rest on a landy to play with !

Cheers... though when I was discovered looking on Autotrader last night my wife said "oh, I didn't think you meant it". Best get on with it me thinks!

So I've started - now the proud (sad?) owner of a Haynes manual, the Haynes guide to "you and your Defender" and the Ninety One Ten handbook. Just need the "how to bend your credit card" book and we'll be in business!
