Hi All

Just bought my first Land Rover! It's a 1980 series III LWB. I've known about it for a couple of years and always shown an interest so as soon as the owner said he was selling it I jumped at the chance. It's a serious project, last MOT in 1993, lots of work to do so I will be starting a thread in the projects section with more info.

Most of my restoration experience is with motorcycles with the exception of a Triumph Spitfire a few years ago. So this huge machine is very alien to me so I need all the help I can get! So that brings me here and on first inspection it would appear to be the right place, looking forward to getting stuck in.

They are alot easier to rebuild than a mosickle , parts are easy to source, very little is made of monkey metal and there is no expensive chrome.

Clean that landy ! Welcome. The technology will be familiar to you from the Spitfire. Generally pretty straightforward but sometimes dirty scraggling around underneath. Yours has bumperettes. Nice. I'd get rid of the bull bars they spoil the appearance a wee bit. Enjoy .
