Hi all. First post, so go easy on me.
Recently acquired an '05 TD4 Sport and have a couple of questions, having had time to have more of a look in the engine bay.
So, at the rear of the engine (adjacent to the brake cylinder) , there's what looks like a fuel filter, dangling from a pipe, but not going anywhere. It's attached to the bottom rear of the engine - one of three pipes coming from the same area? What is it, and should it be joined to anything on the other side?????!!!!!
Also, at the rear of the engine, there's a solid pipe (like a solid brake line), which seems to exit from the centre, rear of the engine at it's base, then come up between the engine and the firewall - again, it's just sitting up there - not attached to anything. I'm sure it shouldn't just be waving around in there! Same question - what is it, and should it be attached to anything?
All help appreciated! Thanks.
Ps, I have done some searching, but due to the random nature of the query, my searching has come to nothing! Plus, the Haynes manual wasn't much use with 'random semi connected fittings'.
