hi guys just bought a 2001 td4 three door freelander last owner said it had a starting problem when warm but would be ok after an hour or so ..... well up to now really pleased with it had a read on the forums about the various causes and cures etc so started with an stp fuel system cleaner, new air filter, oil/filter change, crankcase filter and fuel filter checked the fuel rail connector and the crankcase sensor connections and the fault has not reared its head however i did notice that twice i had difficulty starting it when it was on a bit of an incline an the fuel level was a bit on the low side has this happened to anyone else? also another question for the initiated i was going to change the fuel filter and thought it was under the rear right wing but on taking it off (the undershield) and thinking i was looking for the filter assembly( have since realised this is only on from 2003 and found the filter in engine compartment) just found what looks like a small electric pump? but cant find anything in the manual can anyone tell me what this is ?
thanks paul
