Hi out there, Just aquired my latest landy. Its a yellow freelander kalahari Its a work in progress (aint they all)
Ive recently sold my p38 after many trouble free miles apart from usual leaking suspension and heater woes.
Always had a land rover, First one was a series 1961 lwb . I live in rural south Ayrshire so need my 4x4. Hope i dont need to pick too many brains.

Welcome aboard!!

One question though.....

Why would you sell a trouble free RANGE ROVER P38 and replace it with a Freelander?!:p

Welcome from me too!! What was the decision behind selling a good range rover and buying one of those things!!
Anyhoo! Enjoy your vehicle and have fun!! Your new family will help you keep your thing running!!
And don't be offended when your Freelander gets called names!! Its all light hearted banter !! But it all seems to be directed at freelanders for some reason!
Don't know why ??
You never here the term gayfender or gayiscovery, or gaynge rover!! Gayseries But gaylander is quite a popular name for freelanders!! ;)
we do have our own names too!! Yoo! will find your feet!!
The biggest insult you can say to a D1 owner is? Does a magnet stick anywhere! As magnets don't stick to rust !
Stuff like that!
You will find newish type range rover drivers are boring, defender ownerers I won't mention as they all own shot guns and series owners are the gods !! And people that buy brand new range rovers straight from the showroom , in white, are tossas ,

Have fun
Weldy

Not my first gaylander/hippo, had the Disco 2 with optional rear chassis, Several Disco 1 with all the rust lightening technology built in, Series with optional gears and brakes that needed written notification to stop. Loved them all, But the wife slightly more, If land rover make a car that will cook a breakfast that may change. The p38 was awesome, full service history low miles etc ,too good for me with dogs in back, wood to fetch and so on. Freelander is a limited edition borrengo yellow (G4 ?) Its had thousands spent on it within the last 2 years, New ird, vcu rear diff, engine rebuilt at Gibbsons autos a well know land rover specialist up here and after 12000 miles of pure pleasure in P38 thought it time to move on while i still loved it.
