Hi all,
I've been reading here a while and decided to sign up and post the odd query.
I've got a '75 Series 3 Diesel i'm making roadworthy. I had a Series 11A about 10 years ago and have missed it since selling it ,so here we go again!! .

You gonna get shot of that noisy old oil burner and fit a sweet little petrol lump in it?

It's got a 200DI. I'm told it's a De turbo'd TDI?

Quite common conversion in a Series, nice engine without worrying about transmission and braking ability.

Very noisy though

Need to find out if that engine affects it's tax exempt-ness/historic-ness.

Shouldn't do, assuming the new historic status follows the basics of the points system the engine is only 1 point of a possible 8

You should get that changed, especially as it's now a 2.5 and not a 2 1/4.

You might need a covering letter from a garage to say it's been done properly but it'll reduce the risk of problems later with numbers that don't match.

Yes will do. Need to check the numbers first, also it's off the road at the mo.

DVLA can be a bit slow and inconsistent. Best to get it sorted while your not desperate.
