Hi all
I have recently bought myself a 2005 L322 Vouge SE TD6 as a little project to keep myself busy on my days off. It was a px from a dealer mate of mine and I've always fancied owner one, however as with most px'd vehicles, it has its share of problems. As such, I'm calling it project 136 as many of my friends think I'm a bit nuts to be doing it up. I shall be popping on here to look for guides and ask for help and advice, thankfully I have a good working knowledge of mechanics and can do many jobs myself.
So, the car I bought is a black Vouge SE with 211K on the clock. The mileage does not scare me. I did some research prior to buying it and was reassured to find that the air suspension is quite and does not sag. The gearbox is a little slow, but hopefully a service will sort that out. There are other problem areas though.
Amber flashing light for the active headlights
Parking sensors and reversing camera not working
Oil leak from somewhere in the engine bay
Knocking from the front suspension
Loose steering
Rattle from underneath
No radio/TV signal
Headlights clouded and yellow
Rust on the rear wheel arches behind the rear doors
Big rust hole on the upper tailgate
Torn leather on the rear seat bench
Steering wheel adjustment not working at all
Rear TV remote and head phones not working/connecting
Blue tooth connects but does not put calls through the speakers
General paintwork scratched with the odd small rust patch
Over all the engine is good despite the high mileage and lack of power for its size, and I'm using it as my daily commuter, so it shall be a rolling restoration project. Having done my research, I have found that most parts are easy to get hold of, and relatively easy to fix such as the FSR for the heater blowers which I have already fixed. I bought it cheap with the aim of saving it from the scrap yard, and hopefully I will be able to accomplish this.
Any help, advice or guides that you could all provide would be much appreciated.
Steve
