Have a 2001 TD4 with Auto box.

Developed a thudding clunk from the rear on re-applying throttle when in coasting situations.

Just had the 3 Rear Diff bushings replaced new, along with new oil seals.

Slightly disappointed to find that after this work, I still have the same clunk, albeit much 'quieter' when re-applying the throttle from a coasting ride.

Just wondering if any of you folks can second-guess what the next thing to check for replacement will be? Like to get her sorted for the Winter.

So far, £300 spent on parts and labour on the rear clunk. Cheers if anyone can suggest.

Thanks chaps I will get under.. - JRNorway, I'm a tad unclear, check the Front-Right Mounts of what part?

Nr 4 is the rear subframe.

Just above nr 5 you will see the front mount on the rear subframe :) The problem is usually on the chassis where the bolt goes into a captive nut. Needs some welding and so on, but its easily fixed.

But then again, it might be something else.

Oh that's a fantastic clear diagram, you folks are very helpful indeed.

I will return the effort by updating the posts as-and-when I get it diagnosed and fixed. Nothing worse than Help-Me posts that never conclude eh?

Meantime, me and the dogs are back on Heinz-beans to help me save money...
