I finally managed to fit a nice set of Range Rover 08 wheels to my D2. I'll still keep my Comet rims after they have been refurbed.

The wheels are 20 inch.

I wasn't sure to remove the 30mm hubcentric billet spacers that I was using with the Comet's....but decided to keep them on.

They are a nice snug tight fit using the proper aluminium spigot rings - I also had to get new D3 nuts as the existing ones would not fit.

This may or may not be for some but hey, I'm just sharing in case anyone is thinking of changing their rims.

hi

may i ask what size are those plse, assume the sidewalls are rated ok for the disco

not wishing to sound rude but hope u won’t be taking that off road , u might need new rims, lol

great shame doing that to such a nice disco, has it affected ur gearing by much/speedo

i will get my coat and again no rudeness intended

PS , don’t forget to tell ur ins company and mind the pot holes , lol

The D2 drives just fine. No real difference in the quality of the ride. Stable at 90mph...
No off-roading on this unless I revert back to my Comets which still look good on a D2.... One day I'll change back.

No offence taken gstuart:).... It's not for everyone but I like it.

thks, indeed would be boring if everyone liked the same things , 70mph u mean officer ;)

did u look at ur new tyres to see what the tyre rating was plse

suppose it’s one of pet hates seeing low profiles on 4x4s, but it’s not my car and the most important thing is u like it

don’t forget mind those pot holes, lol

Er... yes.... typo.... 70mph ...

I'll check when it's less cold outside ... ;)

I actually bought the rims with the tyres already on so had no say on the profile.... but yes, if I had to change them, I would go for a much bigger profile. There's certainly enough space in the arches.

i've got AT3s on mine too. I'm praying for snow next week. Mind I also have the Rud snowchains I nicked from work - only trouble is now I have absolutely no excuse for not getting in!

As for the OP - that looks sweet for a road wagon, but if my wife's lo pro tyres are anything to go by, then you'll be cursing every pothole soon enough!

will be interesting to see how they do, indeed also praying for some snow ;)

also haven’t had chance for a good off road test with them

from D3 standards mine aren’t oversized, 235/70/17 but do indeed have a decent sized sidewall

like the fact i can’t hear any drone from them down the motorway

ur not wrong there ref pot holes and low profiles

As sold by a well known LR indi garage which completely rebuilt LRs to any spec. a few years ago, they also built rally cars in which the owners daughter drove, that information is because I've forgotten the name of the firm. :(
So large wheels on D1s and 2s isn't new, the D3 weren't around then.
There's a thread existing somewhere.

Don't get me wrong, I like them. I have considered replacing my 16s with 18s many a time (but there's always something else to spend the money on).
