I always thought a leak was a leak so what your telling me is that if I put a hole in a ballon put weight on it and put the hole on the bottom it will hold air yes !!! No that’s why on this forum people are advised to leave there car overnight to see if they drop yes !!
It's the same as a tyre with a small puncture, park with the wheel in one place and it deflates, roll it 90 degrees and it holds air.
The bags have a design life of 80K miles 7/8 years so unless they have been changed recently they almost certainly are life expired.

I had a tyre like that just recently. Must have been lucky a lot as rarely went down.

Ok so have found and fixed the problem with the air it was the compressor and once rebuilt went straight up so happy days. My old p38 was on springs this is on air with nearly new bags and for me personally I would say there is very little difference in ride quality which surprised me a little. What I do find is that my L 322 is chalk and cheese in ride quality. L322 definitely a massive improvement in ride.

I have seen the same comment about the L322 elsewhere, but (and great that the compressor was an easy fix) how do you know that the suspension is now as it should be? Your shocks cd easily be shot, and anti roll bar links/ bushes, which wd give you a poor ride (vs your coil experience). And check TP's too: 28F/38R

So this is just an initial impression but from looking over the car it has obviously had money spent on it and all bushes and shocks seem good. I’m certainly not going to replace all of them just to prove a point that’s for sure !! I think the improvement in ride on the L322 may be that the back and shock are combined as one unit and not 2 as the P 38 and also the chassis is monocoque so to speak not independent

Sure - i'm the last person to advocate changing stuff over for no reason, but it's not too tricky to just pull the shocks and see whether they are damping. Mine were complete toast - so my PO was just driving around suspended on four balloons... "Money spent on it" Do you have any poly bushes in there - orange/ blue - they're ****e...

No there’s no poly bushes but would replace them with them if needed. My old p38 was polybushed and there was an improvement

The L322 suspension is independent so is always going to be an improvement over a live axle. In order to compensate off road it uses the air-suspension. Whether having the damper and air-spring combined makes much difference I am doubtful but I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't tuned a lot more than earlier versions.
