Right, here goes - 55 freelander td4 auto. Went on 600mile trip, running perfectly, stopped off at services, let engine idle for a minute then switched off, returned 15mins later, fired up and set off, everything fine, about 2mins into journey pulled up at traffic lights and heard a hissing sound when I had the drivers window down, pulled away and was REALLY slow, no power, took about 60secs to get up to 60mph while almost hitting the rev-limiter before every gear change...hills, nope, from 60 to 50 down to a crawl, almost to the point of stopping. Turbo isn’t whistling/spooling.

Before I have a look tomorrow has anyone had the same problem, know what it could be, turbo regulator only 4mths old, if vacuum hose would I still have brakes? Any help much appreciated as usual.

There’s a check valve separating the brake vac hoses from the turbo vac hoses, so yes, you’re brakes will still work.
